Can someone clarify if dark Kirin and Taoshen are different swords?
If so I though dark kirin was the only one that could banish the forbidden spectre puppets?
So if he has Taoshen how was he able to do the banishment?

going for third time taoshen banishes ghosts etc dark kirin nourishes/cultivates the soul. don't be fooled by dark to do with banish ghosts it never said that. taoshen does that.
what i am confused about is why they translated dark kirin as a name but just left taoshen as is when it could be translated to peach/blossom god or smth (it sounds silly tho ik lol)
but anyway in all references two swords do different stuff never have they been mixed despite the names and in the song it is also very clear.

Actually the names were mixed as well as their actions - the fact they mentioned dark kirin was the one that banishes ghosts earlier on. Not exactly great translation is it.

yeah pretty much, although the reason why i wouldn't refer to mc as "the prodigy son" is because it implies that it is how he has been known as, when clearly his identity was more of being the abandoned child. now that does not mean MC is not a prodigy and out of the two sons he is indeed more prodigious. but what you said isn't wrong either lol i just wouldn't say it that way; many others here would tho cause it's simpler like that
